Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) for kidney stones
Dr. Stuppler received his Medical Degree from the University of Maryland, then completed an internship at United States Public Health Services Hospitals and his Urology Residency at West Virginia University Hospital.
He is former chief of the Department of Urology at St. John Macomb Hospital.
Dr. Stuppler’s expertise is in treating kidney stones that are too large to pass on their own. He specializes in extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) which uses sound waves to create strong vibrations (shock waves) to break stones into tiny pieces. The pieces can be passed in the patient’s urine providing much-needed relief.
Dr. Stuppler and his wife, Gloria, reside in West Bloomfield.
Dr. Stuppler is board certified in the specialty of Urology by the American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American Urology Association, the American Medical Association, the Michigan State Medical Society, and the Macomb County Medical Society.
