Dr. Karis Buford earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2012 and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in 2017.
Dr. Buford completed her Urologic Surgery residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 2023, and completed her fellowship in Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Dr. Buford has several peer-reviewed publications and has presented research at local and national urology meetings. She is a recipient of the American Urogynecologic Society award for excellence in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery in 2023.
Dr. Buford is board eligible by the American Board of Urology and board eligible in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery.
She is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU).
