DESTROYING PROSTATE CANCER WITH PLUVICTO®
If you’ve been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, your treatment options are varied at Michigan Institute of Urology. Those options now include the targeted therapy, PLUVICTO®.
PLUVICTO is a “radioligand therapy,” which means it uses radioactive substances to target and destroy PSMA cancer cells. PSMA is found in many prostate cancer cells and some healthy cells. When injected or infused into your body, PLUVICTO looks for PSMA on the surface of cells. If found, it goes into the cell and releases radiation, which damages or destroys the cell from within. It may also affect some nearby healthy cells.
