Urologic Research at The Michigan Institute of UrologyThe Michigan Institute of Urology, P.C. is devoted, in great part, to researching causes and treatments for a host of urologic conditions, diseases, and ailments. These include hematuria, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, incontinence/voiding difficulties, herpes, prostate enlargement, erectile dysfunction, testicular prosthesis, urinary tract infection, pain caused by bone metastasis, and others. Our research staff is composed of 41 physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals who are committed to excellence, and to finding concrete answers to the medical questions and problems with which our patients are confronted every day. We have more than ten years experience conducting clinical drug, device and laboratory trials.We have thirteen offices and privileges at nineteen area hospitals. Our practice sees a variety of adult and pediatric patients with urologic disease or dysfunction. Combined patient office visits total more than 12,000 per month with approximately 3,000 new patient encounters each month. We currently have thirty-seven physicians; thirty-six who are board certified Urologists with experience and subspecialty fellowship training in all aspects of adult and pediatric urology. Our main office in the Shores Professional Building has an on-site diagnostic digital X-ray, ultrasound and surgical departments. Studies requiring these services can be managed without difficulty. Our Shores office also has a CLIA and COLA certified laboratory. Our Washington Center office in Utica, MI is similarly equipped. Research at the Michigan Institute of Urology is performed in a manner in which FDA guidelines are adhered to and Good Clinical Practices are followed. Past Sponsor audits of studies have demonstrated excellent data collection and no citations. We are able to meet or exceed enrollment goals while providing clean data for our Sponsors.
