Robert R. Di Loreto, M.D.

Robert R. Di Loreto, M.D. is one of the founding partners of the Michigan Institute of Urology, P.C. and serves as Vice President of the organization. He has practiced Urology in the Metropolitan Detroit area since 1979. Dr. Di Loreto was Board Certified in the specialty of Urology by the American Board of Urology in 1982. He specializes in all areas of adult and pediatric Urology with an emphasis on the management and treatment of stone disease.

Dr. Di Loreto received a Bachelor of Science from Albion College, Albion, Michigan in 1971. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan in 1975. Surgical Internship was completed at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in 1976 and Urologic Residency at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan in 1979. Additionally, he completed a Pediatric Urology Fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois in 1980.

Dr. Di Loreto's hospital affiliations include St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital and Henry Ford Cottage Hospital.

Dr. Di Loreto has served as a Panel Member and Consultant to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Center for Device Evaluation and the Division of Immunology since 1989.

Dr. Di Loreto has served as chairman of the Urology section of St. John Hospital and Medical Center and has served as Chairman and Member of the Board of Trustees at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, past Co-Chairman of the Physician's Leadership Committee at St. John Health System, past Member of the Information Systems Governing Board St. John Health System and Medical Director of Lithotripsy Services at St. John Hospital and Medical Center. Additionally, he has served as President of the Medical Staff at St. John Hospital and Medical Center and Chairman of the Credential Committee at St. John Hospital and Medical Center and Member of the Board of Trustees of the St. John Health System. He additionally serves on a variety of Boards of local organizations.

Dr. Di Loreto is a member of the American Urology Association, Michigan Urology Association, Endourology Society, American Lithotripsy Society and the International Society of Optical Engineering.

Dr. DiLoreto's hobbies include computers, software development, boating, fishing and photography.
