Robert J. Dimitriou, M.D.

Robert J. Dimitriou, M.D. is a partner of the Michigan Institute of Urology, P.C. He is Board Certified in Urology by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Dimitriou has practiced in the Metropolitan Detroit area since 2002, and he is experienced in all areas of adult urology. His special clinical and research interests include erectile dysfunction, infertility, urinary stone disease, robotic surgery and urologic cancers. He has had numerous publications in the urology literature and has presented at scientific meetings across the country.

Dr. Dimitriou received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Albion College, Albion, Michigan in 1993, graduating with honors and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, Michigan in 1997. Afterwards, he completed his general surgery training in 1998, followed by urology residency in 2002 at Rush-Presbyterian, St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Dimitriou is licensed to practice medicine in Michigan and Illinois. His hospital affiliations include Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, Henry Ford Hospital, Wyandotte and Oakwood Heritage Hospital, Taylor. He currently sees patients at MIU's Dearborn office.

Dr. Dimitriou is a member of the American Urological Association and its North Central Section, the Michigan State Medical Society, the Endourology Society, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Dimitriou is an avid soccer player and coach. His other interests include golf, tennis, paddleball, French and Greek culture, music, and travel.
