Richard C. Sarle, M.D.
Richard Sarle, MD is board certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Sarle has been practicing in the Metropolitan Detroit area with the Michigan Institute of Urology since 2006. Dr. Sarle completed his Surgical Residency, Urology Residency, and Robotic Urologic Oncology fellowship at the Henry Ford Health System, Detroit, MI from 1999-2006. Dr. Sarle is a partner of Michigan Institute of Urology.
Dr. Sarle was one of the first urologists in the United States to complete a fellowship in Robotic Urologic Oncology. He was a member of the first robotic prostatectomy team at Henry Ford’s Vattikuti Urology Institute in 2001, and played a significant role in the development of new robotics techniques that are now used throughout the world. Dr. Sarle is one of few surgeons who has performed over 2000 robotic procedures. Dr. Sarle has lectured, instructed and performed robotic procedures in Europe, South America, and throughout the United States. Dr. Sarle has authored, co-authored, and presented multiple abstracts, articles, and book chapters in the area of robotic surgery.
Dr. Sarle is currently a clinical faculty member with the Wayne State University Urology Department, the Michigan State University/Detroit Medical Center Urology Department, and the Beaumont Hospital/Oakland University School of Medicine Urology Department. He is affiliated with Oakwood Hospital-Dearborn, Oakwood Heritage Hospital-Taylor, Henry Ford Hospital-Wyandotte, William Beaumont Hospital-Royal Oak, Huron Valley Hospital, and St. Joseph/Mercy Oakland Hospital in Pontiac. Dr. Sarle currently sees patients at the Dearborn office on Oakwood Boulevard (across from Oakwood Hospital), and on Hall Road (1/3 mile east of Garfield Road) in Clinton Township.
Dr. Sarle completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Biology, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Public Health, from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Burlington, Vermont in 1999.
Dr. Sarle is a member of the American Urologic Association North Central Section, the American Medical Association, and Michigan State Medical Society.
